Communicative competencies of English language consists of 5 (five) competencies, namely 1) linguistic competency, 2) discourse competency, 3) socioculture competency, 4) strategic competency, and 5) actional competency. Linguistic competency covers gramnar rules of the language. It discusses the modal, preposition and so on, so that the language is accurate. Discourse competency covers kinds of text, for example narratve, descriptive, analytical exposition and so on. Related to text, it discusses language features, generic structure and so on. The purpose of the competency is to enrich the people with the literacy. Socioculture competency covers social and cultural conditions where the language is used.
